Abstract: Objectives of the Study: -To clarify the sanctity of mosques in Islamic law. -To explain the ruling of performing funeral prayer inside the mosque. -To define condolence, present its ruling with evidence from the Qur’an and Sunnah, and clarify its timing, duration, and recipients. -To clarify the ruling on sitting for offering condolences. -To examine the ruling on using mosques as places for condolences and related issues, presenting scholarly opinions and identifying the preponderant view. Research Methodology: Inductive and analytical approach Key Findings: -The study affirms the great status and sanctity of mosques in Islam. -The Prophet Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him designated a specific place for funeral prayers. -It is permissible to perform funeral prayers in mosques according to the preponderant scholarly opinion. - It is disliked to sit for receiving condolences, as it imposes hardship on the family of the deceased and distracts people from attending to their needs.
