Abstract This study examines the artistic structure in the poetry of Zain Abdullah Khawaji through his collection Fi Sukūn al-Layl (In the Stillness of the Night)، with the aim of identifying the major artistic features that characterize his poetic experience within the context of contemporary Saudi poetry. The study adopts the descriptive-analytical approach، relying on a close reading and analysis of the poetic texts to explore the relationship between thematic structure، poetic lexicon، and imagery. The research consists of an introduction، a preliminary chapter، and three main chapters. The first chapter investigates the thematic structure، focusing on praise، love poetry، nostalgia، and elegy. The second examines the poetic lexicon by analyzing its dominant semantic fields، including nature، ruins، love، and pride. The third chapter explores poetic imagery، with particular emphasis on simile and metaphor as the principal devices of artistic expression. The findings reveal the integration of the poem's artistic components and the close interaction between themes، vocabulary، and imagery in producing a coherent poetic structure. They also demonstrate the diversity of the poet's subjects، encompassing religious، national، emotional، and social themes، as well as the richness of his semantic fields and the reliance of his imagery on nature، human experience، and place. The study concludes that Zain Abdullah Khawaji's poetry represents a distinctive poetic experience that combines the traditional features of Arabic poetry with artistic techniques reflecting the uniqueness of his poetic vision and style.
