Research Topic: This research focuses on The scholarly investigation and systematic commentary of "The Completion System in the Three Readings' Pauses" This is a distinguished scholarly work authored by the Imam and reciter Abu al-'Ala' Idris ibn Muhammad al-Manjarah (d. 1137 AH). This system specifically addresses the rules of pausing and continuing recitation based on the different readings of the three reciters who completed the ten readings: Abu Ja'far al-Madani, Ya'qub al-Hadrami, and Khalaf al-'Ashir, along with their transmitters. This pertains to instances where they deviated from their established principles. Research Objectives: 1- To present a scholarly, critically verified edition of the text of the poem "Al-Takmīl fī Waqf al-Thalāthah" (The Completion of the Pauses of the Three), based on the collation of two manuscript copies preserved at the Hassania Library in Rabat, in order to produce a precise, meticulously edited text safeguarded as much as possible from clerical errors (taṣḥīf) and textual corruption (taḥrīf). 2- To introduce Imam Abū al-ʿAlāʾ Idrīs al-Manjarā, highlighting his scholarly status and his contributions to the service of Quranic recitations (qirāʾāt). 3- To clarify the author's intent, determine his objective in his poem, and compare it with the established practice of Quranic recitation in Morocco regarding the pausing and connecting variants of the three Imams, relying on both oral transmission (riwāyah) and analytical knowledge (dirāyah). 4- To elucidate the rationale and underlying causes (ʿilal) of pause and initiation (al-waqf wa-al-ibtidāʾ) in every issue presented by the author. Key Research Findings: 1- Highlighting the close, intrinsic connection between the science of Quranic recitations (qirāʾāt) and the science of pause and initiation (al-waqf wa-al-ibtidāʾ), while revealing the impact of recitation variants on the diversity of pausing locations. 2. The reading practice in Morocco has settled on what the author decided in his poem, with the exception of two places for Ruways, in which his reading differed between connection and beginning.
