Abstract: Research Title: Tribulation of Gog and Magog A Creedal Analytical Study of Truth and Myth in One of the Major Signs of the Hour Researcher: Fouz Abdul Latif Kamel Kurdi This research aims to: - Clarify the correct creedal methodology and the established attributes of Gog and Magog (Ya’jūj and Ma’jūj) as stated in the Islamic scriptural texts. -Refute the false claims circulating in the new media concerning Gog and Magog and deconstruct the misconceptions underlying them. -Protect the contemporary Muslim mind from being misled by artificial-intelligence-generated imagery concerning matters of the unseen. Methodology: The research adopts an analytical approach. Major Findings: -Gog and Magog (Ya’jūj and Ma’jūj) are two human nations from the descendants of Adam, possessing rational faculties and human characteristics such as movement, hunger, thirst, and mortality. The distorted and abnormal descriptions attributed to their physical forms are based on weak reports and Isra’iliyyat (narrations originating from Jewish and other earlier traditions). These reports have been subjected to scholarly hadith-based criticism aimed at exposing their weakness and demonstrating their invalidity from their earliest circulation through their contemporary dissemination in the new media. -Their emergence is a future major sign of the Hour whose occurrence is temporally connected to the descent of Jesus, peace be upon him. This invalidates attempts to interpret the term symbolically or allegorically.
