Abstract -This study examines the role of thematic Qur'anic interpretation in addressing extremism and exaggeration and its impact on enhancing intellectual security. It seeks to develop a comprehensive Qur'anic perspective that contributes to correcting misconceptions, regulating the interpretation and application of religious texts, and promoting moderation. The research problem stems from the association of certain forms of exaggeration and extremism with deficiencies in understanding religious texts, particularly fragmented readings that isolate texts from their contexts, overarching principles, and objectives. Accordingly, the study investigates the extent to which thematic interpretation can address these deficiencies and foster a balanced Qur'anic understanding. The study employs an inductive method to collect relevant Qur'anic verses and an analytical method to examine their meanings and contexts and to relate them to issues concerning exaggeration, extremism, and intellectual security. The study concludes that thematic interpretation contributes to addressing exaggeration and extremism by integrating relevant texts within a comprehensive framework, correcting fragmented and deviant interpretations, clarifying religious concepts associated with exaggeration and extremism, and reinforcing the values of moderation, justice, and mercy. These functions strengthen intellectual security and reduce the causes of deviation in understanding and interpretation. The study also demonstrates that the effectiveness of thematic interpretation in this field depends on cultivating a balanced Qur'anic awareness that combines a contextual understanding of texts with consideration of the overarching principles and objectives of Islamic law.
