الدعم الأسري والمجتمعي لذوي الإعاقة في مدينة الغيضة بمحافظة المهرة: دراسة نوعية استطلاعية لواقع الرعاية والتحديات الباحثة علية الطيب حسين الأحمر

Abstract The study aimed to identify the reality of family and community support provided to persons with disabilities in Al Ghaydah City, Al Mahrah Governorate, and to reveal the most prominent challenges faced by families and institutions in providing this support. The study adopted a qualitative approach using a multiple case study design. A semi-structured interview was used as a data collection tool. The purposive sample consisted of (10) families of persons with disabilities, in addition to (3) community institutions working in the fields of care and rehabilitation. The data were analyzed qualitatively using thematic analysis. The findings revealed that the main challenges faced by families were represented in the weakness of governmental and community support, difficulties in accessing services, and the increasing financial burdens, in addition to a shortage of some forms of psychological and counseling support. The results also indicated that institutions provide varying levels of health, rehabilitation, psychological, and social services, revealing a gap between the development of comprehensive support programs and the actual needs of families. The study recommended the development of integrated family and community support programs, strengthening family counseling, providing appropriate transportation means, and enhancing partnerships between institutions, local authorities, and civil society organizations.
