منهج الإمام مسلم في إيراد المتابعات والشواهد في صحيحه دراسة تحليلية تطبيقية على كتاب العلم

This research examines Imam Muslim's methodology in Mutaba'at and Shawahid and their function in Sahih Muslim through an analytical and applied study of Kitab al-Ilm. It aims to identify and classify the Mutaba'at and Shawahid found in Kitab al-Ilm, explain the types of Mutaba'at, and reveal the scholarly and critical purposes for which Imam Muslim included them, while distinguishing between what relates to strengthening the chain of transmission and what contributes to supporting the meaning of the narration or clarifying differences in its routes and wording.
The research consists of an introduction, three chapters, and a conclusion. The first chapter presents a biography of Imam Muslim and an introduction to his Sahih and methodology. The second chapter discusses the definitions of Mutaba'at and Shawahid, the difference between them, and the types of Mutaba'at, then explains Imam Muslim's methodology in arranging and including them. The third chapter is devoted to the applied study of Kitab al-Ilm through identifying the narrations, classifying them, and analyzing selected examples.
The researcher employed the inductive method in tracing the relevant narrations in Kitab al-Ilm, the analytical method in studying the chains of transmission and texts and comparing the routes of narration, and the applied method in classifying examples and relating them to possible critical purposes.
The study concludes that understanding Mutaba'at and Shawahid in Sahih Muslim requires considering the position of the narration, its context, and its relationship to the original route, not merely relying on the general assumption that every subsequent narration was included for corroboration. It also highlights the importance of the terminological distinction between Mutaba'ah and Shahid while considering the usage of hadith scholars.
