The Impact of Organizational Change on the Performance of the Yemeni Islamic Banks: A Field Study

Abstract

This study aimed at investigating the impact of the organizational change dimensions (tasks, technology, employees, organizational structure, objectives, and policies) on the performance of Islamic banks in Yemen. This study dealt with the organizational performance using the scorecard five perspectives (learning and growth, internal processes, customers, financial. social).. The analytic descriptive method was used in this study. The questionnaire was designed as the main instrument for collecting the data which were processed and analyzed using SPSS. The population of this study consisted of (2864) employees from 5 banks, 340 of which were taken as a sample using stratified random sampling. The results of the study revealed that the Islamic banks pay significant consideration to the organizational change through practicing its six dimensions with variance in their practices. This variance shows that (technology) was the highest dimension in terms of practice, followed tasks, policies, employees, organizational structure, and objectives.. In addition. the level of achievement of organizational performance was relatively high with some variance as (customers) achieved of achievement. The results also revealed that there is an impact of organizational change on the performance and this impact varies from bank to another depending on the dimension.
