Family Climate and its Relationship to Depression among Male and Female Adolescents

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to test the relationship between family climate and depression among secondary school students. The study subject consisted of (206) secondary school students from Almuthnab This study adopted the descriptive methodology The researcher administered Family Climate Scale by Kafafi (2010) and Beck Depression Scale standardized by AL Ansari (1997) The results revealed that there was a statistically positive correlation between family climate and depression. However, there were no differences in depression between male and female subjects. Meanwhile, there were statistically significant differences in family climate between male and female students. The researcher recommended that family members should offer a healthy and positive family climate for their children.
