The Level of Health Awareness and its Relationship to the Social Level among Female Students at Dar Al-Uloom University in Riyadh

Abstract

The aim of the study was to examine the level of health awareness and social level among female students at Dar Al-Uloom University in Riyadh. Additionally, the study aimed to explore the relationship between health awareness and social level among these students. Furthermore, the study aimed to investigate the differences in health awareness levels based on variables such as academic level, college, and age group. The study utilized a descriptive methodology, and two scales were designed, one to measure health awareness and the other to measure social level. The sample consisted of 184 purposely selected female students. Statistical methods including means, standard deviations, percentages, analysis of variance, and Pearson correlation coefficient were used for data analysis. The study found that there was an average level of health awareness among female students in all study areas. It also indicated an average social level among the study sample. The results further revealed a positive correlation between health awareness and social level among female students at Dar Al-Uloom University. The study recommended enhancing the health level of female students through increasing health awareness and education programs within universities. Encouraging students to participate in cultural, health, and sports events that contribute to the promotion of health culture and awareness was also suggested. Activating the role of families and communities in the process of health education and awareness through holding meetings, programs, and seminars for parents and university staff was emphasized. Additionally, conducting further studies on the topic of health awareness and its relationship with social and economic levels, as well as studying other variables, using a diverse sample of university students, was recommended.
