Abstract

The research addresses the concept of context significance and the commentators’ doctrines about it, mentioning applications to it. In determining the most likely meaning according to the interpreters, the researcher used the descriptive analytical inductive approach to the texts according to the interpreters, and began by explaining the concept of context and its importance in understanding the text, then the applied study, and made the title of the research (the concept of the significance of context and the doctrines of the interpreters in their commitment and applications to them). The researcher divided the topic into two sections, the first: Explaining the term context and the doctrines of the commentators regarding its commitment. It contains two requirements: the first requirement is the concept of context and its importance, the second requirement is the doctrines of interpreters in adhering to the meaning of context, the second topic: applications of the meaning of context according to commentators in determining the most likely meaning. The study demonstrated the importance of the interpreters’ knowledge and application of the meaning of the context and explaining its role in interpreting the verse. The commentators are of three schools of thought in adhering to the meaning of the context: the strict, the lenient, and the moderate, which is the most correct opinion held by most commentators and fundamentalists.
