Abstract

The research aims to gather the statements of the Hadith scholars regarding the recognition of Sa’id ibn al-Musayyib’s perception of Zaid ibn Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) or otherwise, to clarify Sa’id ibn al-Musayyib’s hearing from Zaid ibn Thabit, to present the evidence supporting the affirmation of this hearing, and to discuss the issue in light of the principles of criticism among Hadith scholars. Research Methodology: The researcher employed an inductive analytical critical approach to achieve the objective. Among the most important findings is that the most likely age of Sa’id ibn al-Musayyib at the time of Zaid ibn Thabit’s (may Allah be pleased with him) death was thirty years. The research also confirmed that Sa’id ibn al-Musayyib heard from companions who died before Zaid ibn Thabit in Medina, and that those who affirm Sa’id’s hearing from Zaid are among the critical scholars.
