Abstract

The study aims to introduce Ibn Barjan and his exegesis "Tanbih Al-Afham ila Tadabbur Al-Kitab wa Ta'aruf Ala Al-Ayat", explore the impact of his doctrinal orientation on his interpretations of Allah's words, and examine his views on the attributes of Allah as presented in his exegesis. Methodology: The research employs the inductive and deductive methods. This study investigates the impact of Ibn Barjan's doctrinal orientation, highlighting his significance as one of the prominent figures of Sufism in his era, and how this orientation influenced his views on Allah's attributes as discussed in his exegesis. Key Findings: - Sufism began to emerge in the second century AH, but its establishment as a methodology became prominent in the third century AH. - The blending of Sufism and Kalam (theology) was not unusual in the Islamic East, as both disciplines originated there. The introduction of Sufism to the Maghreb occurred at the hands of Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Masarra in the fourth century AH.
