Abstract
This study discusses the topic of the destruction of books by burying or washing them, and whether the destruction was intentional by the owner of the book or not. It then goes on to mention the reasons behind this action, the scholars who buried their books, and some of the effects of this burial on the narrator, in terms of memorization and accuracy. The study also explores the views of scholars on burying books, as well as the reflections of the scholars who destroyed their books. One of the main findings of the research is that the reasons for this action were varied. Some scholars feared their books would be misused, others feared being distracted from the Quran, and some were concerned that relying on written texts would lead to neglecting memorization. The most significant impact of burying books was that the narrator relied more on memorization, which could lead to misunderstandings or mistakes, weakening the reliability of the narration or even invalidating it.
