Abstract

The study aimed to assess the efficiency of a psychological guidance program in developing the national affiliation values within basic education students in Sultanate of Oman. For that reason, the researcher has designed a psychological guidance program and an national affiliation values scale The study utilized an experimental approach with two equivalent groups: an experimental group and a control groups. The sample consisted of (52) Students (26 in each group) ,randomly selected from second-grade primary students in school in North Batinah Governorate, Sultanate of Oman. Both groups were matched in terms of age. Gender. General intelligence. And the national affiliation values. The study employed the Raven's Colored Progressive Matrices Test and the researchers own (National Affiliation values Scale, prepared by researcher (Alpha-Cornbrash Reliability of it was 0,72). In addition, the validity of these Scales has been assured. The psychological guidance program has been applied on the individuals of the experimental group The Study results proved the effectiveness of the psychological guidance program, the result revealed significant differences in experimental group, for national affiliation values between pre- testing and post-testing, means and standard deviations were calculated show post-testing is better than pre- testing. Finally, the analysis statistic: show significant differences for national affiliation values between experimental group and controller group in all tests, experimental group is, thus, proved to be more affective and better than controller group. A number of recommendations and suggestions were presented.
