Abstract
Objectives of the Study: - To analyze the linguistic and contextual meanings of security in Surah Quraysh. - To uncover the different levels of security in light of the words used in the Surah. - To highlight the relationship between security and worship within the Surah. - To apply the thematic method in interpreting Surah Quraysh from the perspective of security. - To present a Qur’anic vision of security based on a single Surah. Methodology: The study adopts a thematic-analytical approach, focusing on the examination of Qur’anic concepts within a single Surah. It analyzes the vocabulary, structures, and contexts of the Surah, aiming to uncover the higher objectives (maqāsid) inherent in its verses. The study also employs both the inductive and comparative methods. Key Findings: - Surah Quraysh establishes the principle of doctrinal security before material security, by linking the blessings of Ilāf (commercial peace and stability) with the obligation of monotheistic worship of Allah alone. - The Surah complements Surah Al-Fīl; the latter represents the repelling of harm from Quraysh, while Surah Quraysh reminds them of the bestowed blessings, thus completing the circle of divine favor and requiring gratitude through Tawḥīd (monotheism).
