Abstract
This search aimed to identify the patterns of new media usage among journalists in Marib City, analyze how they benefit from it in their professional duties, and explore the significance of usage in relation to professional experience. The researcher used a descriptive approach method and employed a questionnaire to collect data from a sample of 43 journalists. The findings showed that journalists with medium experience (5–14 years) were the most frequent users of new media (53%), followed by those with less than 5 years of experience (33%). Moreover, 58% of participants considered new media an effective means of global communication, 49% used it to stay updated on global events, and 33% to obtain desired information. Only 7% viewed it as a means of self-realization. The search concluded that journalists in Marib primarily use new media as a professional tool, with limited personal or expressive use. It recommended enhancing digital skills to keep pace with modern media developments.
