Abstract

This research aimed to determine the level of focus of Islamic Education regarding the rights of people with disabilities in the Asir region, identify the obstacles facing Islamic Education in promoting these rights in the Asir region, and determine the mechanisms contributed by Islamic Education in caring for the rights of people with disabilities in the Asir region, from the perspective of teachers. Furthermore, the study sought to reveal the statistical significance of differences attributable to the variables of (educational level and years of experience). To achieve the research objectives, the descriptive survey method was adopted, using a questionnaire on the role of Islamic Education in promoting the rights of people with disabilities from the teachers' perspective. The research sample consisted of 162 Islamic Studies teachers for students with disabilities from schools affiliated with the Education Directorate in the Asir Region, selected via a simple random sampling method. The study yielded the following results: The level of Islamic Education's focus on the rights of people with disabilities in the Asir region received a high mean response, with an arithmetic mean of (2.696) and a standard deviation of (0.576). The mean scores for the dimension items ranged between (2.858) and (2.463), indicating a high level of response for most items. The obstacles facing Islamic Education in promoting the rights of people with disabilities in the Asir region received a high mean response, with an arithmetic mean of (2.510) and a standard deviation of (0.700). The mean scores for the dimension items ranged between (2.617) and (2.481), indicating a high level of response for most items. The mechanisms contributed by Islamic Education in caring for the rights of people with disabilities disabilities in the Asir region, from the teachers' perspective, received a high mean response, with an arithmetic mean of (2.649) and a standard deviation of (0.593). The mean scores for the dimension items ranged between (2.746) and (2.524), indicating a high level of response for most items. Keywords: Islamic Education, Rights of People with Disabilities.
