Abstract

Abstract: This academic article presents a critical edition and analytical study of the marginal commentary al-Tasrīḥ bi-Ghawāmiḍ al-Talwīḥ by ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAbd al-Ḥakīm al-Siyālkūtī (d. 1093 AH), covering the section from the beginning of the manuscript to the end of the discussion on the definition of homonymy, generality, and specificity. The study draws on four unique manuscript copies and aims to highlight the scientific value of this marginalia and the author's distinctive methodology in addressing nuanced legal theory questions. The article emphasizes the importance of the primary text (al-Talwīḥ) upon which the commentary is based and explores al-Siyālkūtī’s scholarly contributions within his intellectual and political context. The methodology follows a comparative and analytical approach to demonstrate textual variations and the depth of the author's juristic insights.
