Abstract

This study aimed to examine the role of human rights, within the framework of Islamic education, in enhancing the educational environment, taking the value of justice as a model. This was achieved by identifying the current state of human rights application in the educational environment, exploring the main obstacles hindering their effective implementation, and clarifying the educational approaches that contribute to building a just and equitable educational environment in light of Islamic education. The study adopted the descriptive survey methodology due to its suitability for the nature and objectives of the research. A questionnaire was used as the primary data collection tool and was administered to a sample of (44) educational experts and specialists from the Asir Education Administration during the academic year 1447 AH / 2025 AD. The study reached several key findings, most notably: A high level of agreement regarding the realization of human rights, according to Islamic education, in enhancing the educational environment, particularly in terms of respecting learners’ dignity and reinforcing the value of justice in daily educational practices. Justice was found to be a fundamental pillar in improving the educational climate, ensuring equal opportunities, and enhancing learners’ sense of fairness and belonging. The presence of certain obstacles that limit the optimal application of the value of justice, such as weak human rights awareness programs and inconsistency in educational practices within the school environment. The importance of activating educational methods derived from Islamic education such as equality among students, consideration of individual differences, and fairness in assessment due to their direct impact on establishing a just and stable educational environment.
