Abstract
The present study aimed to examine the effectiveness of a training program designed for mothers to enhance their skills in modifying their children’s behavior in the Sultanate of Oman. To achieve this objective, the researcher employed an experimental methodology, utilizing two instruments: a Behavior Modification Skills Scale and a training program developed by the researcher. The study sample consisted of 40 mothers, divided into two groups: an experimental group (n=20) and a control group (n=20). The findings revealed statistically significant differences in mothers’ behavior modification skills between the experimental and control groups in the post-test, favoring the experimental group. Additionally, significant differences were found between the pre- and post-test scores of the experimental group, with higher scores in the post-test, indicating the positive impact of the training program. There are statistically significant differences were observed between the post-test and follow-up test results for the experimental group, suggesting the stability of the acquired skills over time. The study recommends the adoption and implementation of the developed training program as a valuable tool for empowering mothers with the skills necessary to effectively modify and manage their children’s behavior.
