Abstract

Abstract This study, entitled “Regulations for Fatwas via Modern Technologies,”, examines the Sharia and technical regulations governing the issuance of electronic fatwas in light of the rapid expansion of digital technologies. The research addresses the impact of modern technological tools on regulating the fatwa process and identifies the essential requirements necessary to ensure the validity, reliability, and soundness of electronic fatwas. The study adopts descriptive, inductive, analytical, and comparative approaches by examining the concept and characteristics of electronic fatwas, the Sharia regulations governing their issuance, and the risks arising from issuing fatwas without proper controls. It also analyzes selected practical models of official electronic fatwa platforms. The study concludes that modern technologies have significantly contributed to enhancing the regulation of fatwas in terms of documentation, archiving, and accessibility. Nevertheless, the integrity of electronic fatwas remains contingent upon the scholarly qualification of the mufti, the existence of institutional academic supervision, and the commitment of digital platforms to established Sharia and technical standards. Keywords: Electronic Fatwa; Digital Fatwa; Sharia Regulations; Modern Technology; Fatwa Platforms.
