Abstract
The later scholars of the Hanbali school paid special attention to the letters indicating disagreement in their texts and writings. Among these letters of indication in the Hanbali school is the letter "law" (لو), which is typically preceded by the conjunction "waw" (و), so they say "wa-law" (ولو). There has been disagreement about what this indication signifies, necessitating an applied study through various jurisprudential branches. The objective of this research is to clarify the intended meaning of the letter "law" (لو) among later Hanbali scholars in terms of strength and weakness. The research consists of an introduction, a preface, three chapters, and a conclusion. Preface: Contains two sections: - First section: Definition of the key terms in the title. - Second section: The meaning of indication with "law" among later Hanbali scholars. First Chapter: Jurisprudential applications of the letter "law" (لو) in acts of worship, containing several sections. Second Chapter: Jurisprudential applications of the letter "law" (لو) in matters other than worship, containing several sections. The research follows an inductive analytical methodology based on what the Hanbali scholars mentioned in their books. Key findings include: 1. Later Hanbali jurists agree that the indication with "law" refers to disagreement within the school. However, there is disagreement about what "law" signifies regarding the strength, moderation, or weakness of the disagreement. 2. The significance of indicating disagreement with any letter can only be understood through practical applications. 3. Through the applications mentioned in the research, it became clear that indication with "law" for disagreement is used for strong disagreement. 4. The higher-level disagreement can be utilized to determine the strength of the disagreement in terms of whether it is a significant scholarly disagreement or a weak doctrinal disagreement.
