Abstract
This study aimed to identify the ost common personality traits among juvenile delinquents in the Sultanate of Oman, and to know the extent of variation of these traits in light of the study variables. The study sample consisted of all juvenile delinquents placed in the central prison in the Wilayat of Samayil, numbering (40) juvenile delinquents, whose ages ranged between (12-17) years. To achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive approach was used, and the Big Five Personality Factor Inventory (NEO-FFI-S) scale of Costa and McCrae (1992) was applied. To answer the study questions, some statistical tests were used, including arithmetic means, standard deviations, T. Test, One-Way ANOVA, and Two-Way ANOVA. The results of the study showed that the most common personality traits among juvenile delinquents in the Sultanate of Oman were neuroticism, followed by extroversion, which were highly prevalent, while agreeableness and extroversion were moderately prevalent. Conscientiousness was not a trait, and the results showed that there were statistically significant differences in personality traits among juvenile delinquents attributable to all study variables.
