Abstract
Abstract Title: Juridical Trends in Defining the Essential Objectives (Maqasid) This study examines the criteria used by legal theorists (Usuliyyin) to define the Essential Necessities (Daruriyyat). The research identifies five distinct trends based on: 1. The types of public interests (Masalih). 2. The consequences of their absence. 3. The inherent nature of necessity. 4. The prescribed legal punishments (Hudud). 5. The rulings of moral obligation (Al-Hukm al-Taklifi). The study concludes that a Maqasidi criterion is a universal concept covering multiple legal cases. It identifies the "Property of Necessity" (Khasiyyat al-Idtirar) as the most robust standard for defining these objectives. Keywords: Trends, Legal Theory, Criteria, Maqasid, Essentials.
