Abstract

This study aimed to identify the level of availability of strategic planning competencies among academic and administrative leaders at the University of the Region of Sheba from their own perspectives, across five main domains: (Personal Skills, Analysis and Diagnosis, Formulation of Strategic Directions, Implementation and Follow-up, Evaluation and Development). The researcher employed the descriptive-analytical approach. The study was applied to a random sample of (60) leaders, representing (67%) of the total study population of (89) leaders. A questionnaire was used as the main data collection tool. After analyzing the data using SPSS, the study reached several key findings: The level of availability of strategic planning competencies was (High) across all domains: Personal Skills (3.94), Analysis and Diagnosis (3.78), Formulation of Strategic Directions (3.81), Implementation and Follow-up (3.56), and Evaluation and Development (3.47). There were no statistically significant differences in the level of competency availability attributed to the (gender) variable. There were statistically significant differences attributed to the (academic qualification) variable, favoring PhD holders compared to those with a Bachelor's degree, and the (job position) variable, favoring deans of faculties/centers and vice-deans compared to department directors.
