Abstract

This study aimed to examine the impact of non-financial factors on job satisfaction among employees at the University of Sharqiyah in the Sultanate of Oman. The research covered both academic and non-academic staff at supervisory and executive levels. It focused on four main non-financial factors: leadership style, work environment and location, work-life balance, and professional training and development systems. The study adopted a descriptive analytical approach. Data were collected from the study population of 388 employees through an electronic questionnaire distributed to a stratified sample of 124 participants. The results were analyzed using SPSS software. Findings revealed that the overall level of job satisfaction among employees was considered "very good." Furthermore, 77.1% of job satisfaction was attributed to the studied non-financial factors. Work-life balance emerged as the most influential factor, followed by the professional training and development system. The study offered several recommendations, including: developing an institutional culture document outlining best leadership practices to be uniformly applied across all university departments; conducting internal workshops for leadership experience exchange among unit heads and training newly appointed leaders. It also recommended evaluating workload distribution, adopting flexible work systems, and integrating artificial intelligence technologies to enhance efficiency and optimize the use of time and effort.
