Abstract

Translation has been essentially viewed as a cross-cultural linguistic process in which a translator acts as a mediator between various types of cultures worldwide. This research paper investigates the impact of some Arabic cultural aspects (social, political, religious and linguistic) on the process of translating Arabic texts into English and vice versa. Moreover, the research is expected to provide some cultural translated scenarios/ texts as supporting examples taken from the Arabic context to show how the target language texts (English) are influenced by the cultural dimensions of the source language (Arabic) and the other way around. The descriptive, textual and analytica methods are used by the researcher to systematically and logically achieve the objectives of the paper. Several findings have been reached in this paper, the most common of which are those demonstrating practically the great influence of the translation process and translated texts by the social, political, religious and linguistic aspects of Arabic language culture. This task demands a lot of efforts to be exerted by translators and increases their responsibilities.
