Abstract

Abstract The study aims to measure the level of crisis and disaster counseling skills among students majoring in psychological counseling at the University of Sharqiya in the Sultanate of Oman, in light of the following variables (gender, academic level). The study relies on the descriptive-analytical method and used the Crisis Counseling Skills Scale (Al-Khawaldeh & Tannous, 2017), which was applied to a random sample of 206 students majoring in psychological counseling. The results of the study showed that the overall level of crisis and disaster counseling skills was high, with a mean score of 3.66 and a standard deviation of 0.074. Moreover, there were statistically significant differences at the 0.05 level in the gender variable in favor of males in the first dimension, 'Crisis Counseling Areas,' while no statistically significant differences were found in the other dimensions and the overall scale. The study also revealed that there were no statistically significant differences at the 0.05 level in the academic level variable between undergraduate and master's students in any of the dimensions or the overall scale Keywords: Crisis and Disaster Counseling Skills, psychological counseling, Al Sharqiyah University.
