Abstract

Abstract Research Title: Technical Challenges in Distance Learning of Islamic Sciences for Non-Arabic Speakers and a Proposed Vision to Overcome Them. Objectives: This research aimed to identify the most prominent technical difficulties facing the distance teaching of Islamic sciences to non-Arabic speaking students. It also sought to explore specialists' perspectives on these challenges based on their academic qualifications, specializations, and years of experience, to reach practical and effective solutions. Methodology: The research employed a descriptive-analytical approach. A questionnaire was used as a data collection tool, consisting of (25) items distributed across (5) domains. The tool was applied to a sample of (30) faculty members and teachers. Results: The findings revealed that the overall mean of the sample’s responses was (3.42), corresponding to an "Agree" rating, which confirms the existence of actual challenges facing the educational process. The domains of challenges were ranked in descending order as follows: Digital Infrastructure, Technical Competencies of faculty/teachers, Educational Interaction, Suitability of Technologies to the nature of Islamic sciences, and finally, the Impact of technical challenges on achievement. Furthermore, the results indicated no statistically significant differences attributable to the variables of academic degree, specialization, or years of service. Consequently, a proposed vision was developed to enhance distance learning of Islamic sciences for non-Arabic speakers. Recommendations: The research recommended the necessity of transforming traditional Islamic science courses into interactive digital learning units, in addition to training teachers on the required technical skills that take into account the linguistic and religious specificities of the learners. Keywords: Technical Challenges, Islamic Sciences, Distance Learning, Non-Arabic Speakers, Proposed Vision.
