Abstract
Abstract
Abstract This study aimed to develop a scale for entrepreneurial traits among Omani university students and to examine its psychometric properties in terms of validity and reliability. The study adopted the descriptive analytical method. The scale items were developed based on a review of the theoretical literature, previous studies, and relevant international scales. The initial version of the scale consisted of 40 items distributed across seven dimensions. The items were reviewed by a panel of experts to ensure face validity, and a pilot study was conducted on a sample of 50 students to verify the clarity of the items. An exploratory factor analysis was then conducted on a sample of 400 male and female students, which resulted in the extraction of five factors. A confirmatory factor analysis was also performed and confirmed the adequacy of the factorial model. Convergent validity was examined by analyzing the relationship between the scale and the Big Five personality traits, and the results showed statistically significant correlations in the expected direction. Reliability results indicated high internal consistency, with a Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of 0.80 for the overall scale. The final version of the scale consisted of 24 items distributed across five dimensions, indicating that the scale has acceptable validity and reliability and can be used in psychological and educational research related to entrepreneurial traits among university students. Keywords: Scale development, entrepreneurial traits, psychometric properties, Omani university students, entrepreneurship.
